A summer programme of talks, labs, commissions, live music, that took place across the city, set around the theme of ‘the future of arts practices’. supported by mac Birmingham.
Working alongside Creative Producer, Amy Martin, we developed a programmed a series of events across the city that enabled emerging artist to explore future innovation and technology through creativity. As well as invite some leading practitioners in the field Arts and Technology like; Zach Liberman (US), Futurist, Chris Barnet (UK), sound and sculpture artist, Di Mainstone (UK), Material researcher, Jenny Lee (UK) and others to share their perspectives through their practices.
The programme also commissioned 5 emerging artist from the performing arts, film and visual arts to make new work using a Kano device. Taught creatives how to make gif’s which were projection mapped onto the side of the art centre. Screened the fashions futures documentary, A live performance from United Vibrations and a maker market place where audiences got hands on with augmented reality tools, 3d printing and other technologies.
