An interactive installation we created for Birmingham City Council. ‘Forward City’ – taking it’s name from the city’s motto, aimed to communicate to members of the public how the council operated and the role it served when delivering a balanced budget and setting spending on services.

We took inspiration from 8-bit games, conceptualising citizens as active participants and riffing on Birmingham’s hallmarks to create a condensed cityscape. With treatment of the narrative led by a fictional local neighbour who guided you through the various stations.
